Baidyanath

Baidyanath, also spelled Baidyanath Dham, refers primarily to a major Hindu temple complex in Deoghar, Jharkhand, India. The site houses one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, sacred manifestations of Lord Shiva, making it one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in Shaivism. The temple complex sits on a ridge overlooking the town and is associated with a number of shrines and bathing ghats along the Hindu pilgrimage route. Devotees visit during festivals such as Shravan (the monsoon month) when large crowds participate in the Shravani Mela, during which pilgrims carry holy water from sacred rivers to the temple. The temple's name is derived from the belief in the healing and protective powers of Shiva.

In addition to the temple, the name Baidyanath is used by Baidyanath Ayurved Bhawan Pvt. Ltd., a
