Baclaran

Baclaran is a barangay in Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is situated along Manila Bay's coastline and forms part of the southern metropolitan area, adjacent to Pasay City.

The area is notable for its religious landmark, the National Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, commonly called Baclaran Church. The Redemptorists opened the church in the late 1940s, and it has since been a major destination for Catholic devotion, especially the weekly Our Lady of Perpetual Help novena on Wednesdays.

Baclaran is also a busy commercial district, home to the Baclaran Market, one of Metro Manila's largest and most well-known flea markets. The market spans several blocks and offers clothing, textiles, accessories, and home goods; it operates daily and attracts a steady stream of shoppers from across the region.

Transport and urban life: The district is served by the LRT-1 Baclaran Station, a key public transit hub linking southern Metro Manila to central areas. Major road networks and proximity to the Manila Airport Road connect Baclaran to surrounding cities, though traffic can be heavy, particularly during market days and church activities.
