Azhwar
The Azhwars were a group of twelve ancient Tamil poets and mystics who lived between the 6th and 9th centuries CE. They are revered in Sri Vaishnavism, a branch of Hinduism, for their profound devotion to Vishnu. Their collective works, known as the Naalayira Divya Prabandham, are considered a sacred text and are sung in temples and homes. The term "Azhwar" itself translates to "one who is immersed in God."
