Avesnois

Avesnois is a natural region and former county located in the north of France, forming the northeastern part of the Nord department. It is bordered by Belgium to the east and north, and by the French departments of Aisne and Pas-de-Calais to the south and west respectively. The region is characterized by its rolling hills, agricultural landscapes, and numerous forests. Historically, Avesnois was a significant territory within the County of Hainaut before its incorporation into the Kingdom of France.
