Autoklavoidaan

Autoklavoidaan is a Finnish term that roughly translates to "autoclave room" in English. It refers to a specific type of thermal energy storage system used in the power plant industry. The autoklavoidaan system utilizes a pressurized tank filled with a phase change material that absorbs and stores thermal energy during off-peak hours.

During the energy absorption phase, the phase change material is cooled down to a low temperature, typically between 10°C to 40°C. When the system is needed to provide heat, the stored thermal energy is released as the phase change material is heated, often to a temperature between 80°C to 120°C.

The autoklavoidaan system is designed to provide thermal energy during peak demand periods, reducing the load on traditional steam generators and decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. By using a phase change material, the system can store energy at a lower cost than traditional thermal energy storage methods, making it an attractive option for power plants seeking to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
