Autokalibrering

Autokalibrering, often shortened to auto-calibration, refers to a process where a device or system automatically adjusts its own parameters to achieve optimal performance or accuracy without manual intervention. This is particularly common in electronic devices, scientific instruments, and industrial machinery.

The purpose of autokalibrering is to compensate for variations that can occur over time, due to factors like temperature changes, component aging, or environmental shifts. By performing these adjustments autonomously, devices can maintain a higher level of precision and reliability throughout their operational lifespan.

Examples of autokalibrering can be found in various contexts. Digital cameras may automatically calibrate their white balance to accurately represent colors under different lighting conditions. Scientific sensors, such as those used in laboratory equipment or environmental monitoring, might autokalibrate to ensure readings are always correct. In manufacturing, automated systems can use autokalibrering to maintain the precision of robotic arms or measurement tools.

The process typically involves the device measuring a known reference, or a characteristic of its own output, and then applying internal algorithms to adjust its internal settings. This can happen periodically, at startup, or in response to detected deviations.
