Autoimmuunivälitteinen

Autoimmuunivälitteinen (also known as Autoimmune Complementopathy) refers to a condition in which the immune system produces antibodies or immune complexes that activate the complement system, leading to tissue damage and disease. This condition results in the loss of function and damage of the cells lining the blood vessels and lymphoid tissues.

The term autoimmuunivälitteinen is used to describe this condition because the immune system mistakenly attacks the body's own cells and tissues, triggering an autoimmune response. The complement system, a group of proteins that work together to help get rid of pathogens and dead cells, is activated and causes inflammation and damage to the affected tissues.

Humans have a limited number of affected individuals per a population. In most cases, people diagnosed with this condition have an underlying autoimmune disease, such as lupus or autoimmune hemolytic anemia. The symptoms of autoimmuunivälitteinen can vary greatly from person to person, but they might include joint pain, fatigue, fever, skin rashes, kidney damage, and vision problems.

Autoimmuunivälitteinen is diagnosed by identifying the characteristic granular deposits of immune complexes in the wall of the affected small blood vessels, known as the "C3 deposits" on the vessel walls. A biopsy, MRI, and blood tests are the primary diagnostic tools for identifying this condition.
