Auroran
Auroran is a term used to describe a person who is fascinated by or studies the aurora, which are natural light displays predominantly seen in high-latitude regions near the Arctic and Antarctic. The aurora is caused by the interaction of the Earth's magnetosphere with the solar wind, a stream of charged particles ejected from the Sun. When these particles collide with gases in the Earth's atmosphere, they transfer energy to the gases, causing them to emit light. The most common colors of the aurora are green, which is produced by oxygen molecules located about 60 miles above the earth, and red, which is produced by oxygen molecules located about 120 miles above the earth. Nitrogen produces blue or purplish-red auroras.
Auroras are typically visible in the night sky, although they can sometimes be seen during the day.
