Aurboða
Aurboða was a legendary figure in Norse mythology, known for her wisdom and beauty. She is often associated with the goddess Frigg, as she was one of the three Norns who spun the threads of fate. Aurboða is mentioned in the Poetic Edda, specifically in the poem "Völuspá," where she is described as one of the three Norns who weave the fate of all beings. The other two Norns are Urd and Skuld. Aurboða's role in the weaving process is to spin the threads, while Urd cuts them and Skuld binds them. Her name is derived from the Old Norse words "aur," meaning "gold," and "boða," meaning "to tell" or "to speak," reflecting her association with prophecy and wisdom. Aurboða is not as prominent as the other Norns, but her presence in the weaving of fate underscores the interconnectedness of all things in Norse cosmology. Her character is often depicted as calm and wise, contributing to the overall narrative of the Norns as guardians of destiny.
