Audiocsatlakozók, commonly referred to as audio connectors, are physical interfaces used to connect audio devices. They allow for the transmission of analog or digital audio signals between components. The design and type of audio connector are crucial for ensuring proper signal integrity and compatibility between different audio equipment.

One of the most ubiquitous types of audio connectors is the 3.5mm (1/8 inch) TRS connector, often found on headphones, smartphones, and portable music players. It typically carries stereo audio signals, with separate conductors for left channel, right channel, and ground. Larger versions, like the 6.35mm (1/4 inch) TRS connector, are frequently used in professional audio settings, such as on electric guitars, amplifiers, and audio interfaces.

For balanced audio signals, which offer better noise rejection over longer cable runs, XLR connectors are standard. These are commonly seen in microphones, professional mixers, and studio monitors. XLR connectors have three pins: one for signal, one for an inverted signal, and one for ground.

Digital audio signals are often transmitted using connectors like TOSLINK (optical) or S/PDIF coaxial connectors. TOSLINK uses fiber optic cables to send audio data, while S/PDIF uses a coaxial cable. Both are used for transmitting digital audio, such as from a CD player to an amplifier. The choice of audio connector depends on the application, the type of audio signal, and the required audio quality.
