Atågväxellåda

An atågväxellåda, sometimes referred to as a power take-off (PTO) gearbox, is a specialized transmission component designed to transmit power from a vehicle's engine to auxiliary equipment. Unlike a standard transmission that primarily focuses on driving the wheels, an atågväxellåda diverts a portion of the engine's power to operate external machinery.

This type of gearbox is commonly found in commercial vehicles such as trucks, tractors, and construction equipment. The primary function is to provide rotational power to systems like hydraulic pumps, winches, snowplows, or generators. It typically engages with the vehicle's main transmission or directly with the engine's crankshaft, allowing for the selection of different output speeds and torque levels.

The engagement and disengagement of the atågväxellåda are usually controlled by the vehicle operator through a lever or button. This allows for precise control over when the auxiliary equipment is powered. The design often includes gears and clutches to manage the power transfer efficiently and safely. The output shaft of the atågväxellåda is then connected to the driven equipment via a driveshaft or other coupling mechanism.
