Atomimudeli

Atomimudeli is a Finnish term that translates to "atomic model." It refers to a conceptual representation of the structure of an atom. Throughout history, various atomic models have been developed by scientists to explain experimental observations and theoretical understanding of matter.

Early atomic models, such as Dalton's model, proposed atoms as indivisible solid spheres. Later, Thomson's "plum pudding" model suggested a positively charged sphere with negatively charged electrons embedded within it. Rutherford's gold foil experiment led to the nuclear model, where a dense, positively charged nucleus is at the center of the atom, with electrons orbiting it. The Bohr model refined Rutherford's idea by introducing quantized electron orbits, explaining atomic spectra.

The most widely accepted model today is the quantum mechanical model, which describes electrons not as particles in fixed orbits but as probability clouds or wave functions. This model, developed by scientists like Schrödinger and Heisenberg, accounts for the complex behavior of electrons in atoms and forms the basis of modern chemistry and physics.
