Atomháború

Atomháború, often translated as atomic war or nuclear war, refers to a large-scale conflict fought with nuclear weapons. The primary characteristic of an atomháború is the use of these weapons, which derive their destructive power from nuclear reactions, either fission or fusion. The immediate effects of nuclear detonations include intense heat, blast waves, and ionizing radiation, leading to widespread destruction and immense casualties.

Beyond the initial impact, an atomháború carries the threat of long-term consequences. Radioactive fallout, dispersed by winds, can contaminate vast areas, posing health risks for generations. A significant concern is the potential for nuclear winter, a hypothetical climatic event where widespread fires and smoke from nuclear explosions block sunlight, leading to a drastic drop in global temperatures and widespread crop failure.
