Atok

Atok is a municipality in Benguet province, in the Cordillera Administrative Region of the Philippines. It is located in the highlands of northern Luzon and is part of the Cordillera mountain system. The town is connected by the Halsema Highway, which links Baguio City with settlements on Benguet's plateaus.

Geography and climate: Atok covers rugged terrain with elevations typical of highland municipalities. The area experiences a cool, temperate climate with pronounced wet and dry seasons. Agricultural terraces and pine-forested slopes characterize the landscape.

Economy: The local economy is primarily agricultural. Farmers cultivate highland vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, and others suitable to cool climates; fruit trees and root crops are also grown. Market access is served by road networks connecting to nearby towns.

Administration and demographics: Atok is subdivided into barangays and is governed by a municipal council headed by a mayor. The population is composed of indigenous and settler communities typical of Cordillera towns, with languages and cultural practices reflecting the region's diversity.
