Astorans

Astorans are a species of alien beings that appear in the science fiction universe of Arthur C. Clarke's novel "Imperial Earth" and other connected works. The species originates from the planet Astora, a distant world in the outer reaches of the galaxy.

Physically, Astorans are characterized by their slender, elongated bodies, typically in excess of 1.5 meters in height, and their radiant, scaly skin which is capable of shifting through a wide range of colors depending on their mood and emotional state. Their eyes are large and almond-shaped, with vertically-slitted pupils that allow for exceptional low-light vision. Astorans are also known for their long lifespans, reportedly exceeding several hundred years, and their highly advanced, prolongued immortality despite this.

Astorans possess a sophisticated and advanced technology that spans a range of fields, including energy, matter transference, artificial gravity, and faster than light interstellar travel. They have a deep understanding of quantum mechanics and the manipulation of subatomic particles, which has allowed them to develop an accelerated propulsion system utilizing quantum entanglement.
