Ashwinis

Ashwinis refers to the twin divine horsemen in Hindu mythology, known as the Ashvins or Ashvinau. They are celestial physicians and are often depicted as young, handsome twins with radiant appearances. In Vedic literature, they are frequently mentioned as companions of the sun god Surya and are associated with the dawn. Their primary role is that of healers and preservers of health, credited with restoring youth and vigor to the aged and curing various ailments.

The Ashvins are also known for their swiftness and are often depicted traveling in a golden chariot drawn by horses. They are invoked in prayers for health, prosperity, and protection. Their mythology is rich with tales of their heroic deeds and benevolent interventions in the lives of mortals and gods alike. They are considered auspicious beings, symbolizing hope and the dawn of a new day. The constellation Aries in astronomy is sometimes linked to them. Their presence signifies healing, rejuvenation, and the overcoming of darkness and disease.
