Arvojääntöjä is a Finnish term that translates to "value entrenchment" or "value lock-in" in English. It refers to a phenomenon where deeply held values, beliefs, or assumptions within an individual, group, or society become so ingrained and resistant to change that they significantly influence future decision-making and limit the consideration of alternative perspectives. This entrenchment can make it difficult to adapt to new information, evolving circumstances, or differing viewpoints.
