Arrats

Arrats, also known as rats, are medium-sized, long-tailed rodents of the family Muridae. They are found throughout the world, except in extreme polar regions. There are two main species of rats: the black rat (Rattus rattus) and the brown rat (R. norvegicus). The black rat is native to Europe and Asia, while the brown rat is native to Asia and Africa. Both species have adapted well to human environments and are often found in urban areas.

Rats are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of foods including grains, fruits, vegetables, and even garbage. They are known for their ability to squeeze through small spaces, which has led to their reputation as pests in both urban and agricultural settings. Rats are also known for their strong sense of smell and hearing, as well as their ability to climb and swim.

Rats are social animals and typically live in colonies. They are also known for their reproductive rate, with females able to produce up to 12 litters per year, each containing up to 12 young. This high reproductive rate, combined with their ability to adapt to a wide range of environments, has made them one of the most successful and widespread species on Earth.

Despite their reputation as pests, rats play an important role in many ecosystems. They help to control insect populations and disperse seeds, contributing to the health of their environments. However, their presence in human habitats can pose health risks, as they can carry diseases such as leptospirosis, salmonellosis, and rat-bite fever. Therefore, while rats are an important part of many ecosystems, their presence in human environments often necessitates control measures.
