Arkipuhetta

Arkipuhetta is a Finnish linguistic term describing everyday, informal speech that occurs in ordinary social interaction. It stands in contrast to formal or institutional language and is characterized by spontaneous topic choice, conversational turns, and pragmatic features that convey friendliness and solidarity among speakers.

The term is formed from ark- meaning "everyday" and puhetta meaning "talk" (partitive of puhetta). It is used in sociolinguistic contexts to refer to natural language use in private and public life, rather than prepared discourse.
