Arhiveerimiskontekstides is a term used in archival studies to refer to the ensemble of social, technical, legal, and ethical contexts in which archiving activities take place and shape the creation, preservation, access, and interpretation of records.

Because the term is not widely standardized, its exact scope varies among scholars. In general, it highlights how governance, technology, representational bias, and user needs interact with archiving practices.

The concept integrates dimensions such as policy and governance (laws, access rights, records retention schedules), technology and metadata (digitization, format migration, provenance, preservation planning), accountability and transparency (provenance, audit trails), social and cultural bias and representation, privacy and security concerns, and economic factors (funding, sustainability).

Applications include guiding archival policy, informing digital preservation strategies, and analyzing memory politics. Criticisms include potential reinforcement of power imbalances, risk of erasing marginalized histories, and tensions between openness and privacy.
