Arbeidsongeluk

Arbeidsongeluk is a Dutch term that translates to "work accident" or "occupational accident." It refers to any incident that occurs during or as a direct result of carrying out one's work, leading to physical or psychological injury, illness, or death. These incidents can happen in a wide variety of work environments, from construction sites and factories to offices and retail stores.

The definition of an arbeidsongeluk typically includes events that happen while an employee is performing their duties, on the employer's premises, or even during activities that are directly related to their employment, such as commuting to or from work under certain conditions. The injury or illness must be causally linked to the work activity or environment.

In the Netherlands, employers have a legal obligation to ensure a safe working environment and to prevent accidents.
