Aranari

Aranari is a region consisting of a coastal archipelago and adjacent mainland areas in the fictional nation of Valoria. The archipelago comprises twelve inhabited islands and several smaller islets, with Nyara serving as its administrative capital. The terrain includes mangrove swamps, limestone cliffs, and reef-rich seas. The climate is tropical maritime, with a wet season from May to October.

Aranari was settled by seafaring communities known as the Arani, who built trade networks across the eastern sea. The region flourished as a mercantile hub during the early centuries of Valorian history. In the 19th century it gained autonomous status and is now governed by a regional council and a governor, with national law applying to defense and foreign affairs. The council enacts regional ordinances on land use, culture, and local services.

Fisheries and tourism form the economic base. The region is also known for traditional crafts, such as mat weaving and carved woodwork, and for a music and dance tradition centered on bamboo flutes and drum rhythms. Aranari supports reef conservation and sustainable tourism programs.

The population is diverse, with speakers of Arani and several minority languages. Education is provided by two public universities and a conservatory of Arani music. Notable sites include the Coral Gate reef, Seabrook Nature Reserve, and the capital Nyara.
