Arabmajority

Arabmajority is a demographic and cultural descriptor for a population in which Arabs constitute the majority of inhabitants or where Arab linguistic and cultural identity predominates. The term is commonly applied to the Arab world, a broad cultural and linguistic region that roughly aligns with the 22 member states of the Arab League, as well as communities with sizable Arabic-speaking populations. Because “Arab” can refer to ethnicity, language, nationality, or self-identification, the exact meaning of Arabmajority can vary by context.

Geographically, Arab-majority populations are concentrated across North Africa and the Middle East, including countries such as Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, the Palestinian territories, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and others. Arabic is the common language, with a spectrum of dialects and Modern Standard Arabic used in formal settings. Religiously, these countries are predominantly Muslim, but they host significant Christian and other minority communities, and religious diversity varies by country.

In historical and political terms, the concept is connected to movements such as pan-Arabism and to contemporary discussions of national identity, minority rights, and governance. The boundaries of what constitutes an Arabmajority area are not fixed and can shift with migration, changing self-identification, and demographic trends.
