Apphus

Apphus is a fictional municipality and cultural center in the western part of the fictional nation of Norda. The municipality covers about 68 square kilometers and lies along the App River, featuring a temperate climate and gently rolling hills.

As of 2022, its population is approximately 14,000, with a mix of urban neighborhoods and surrounding rural areas. The local government operates a mayor–council system, with a directly elected mayor and a council of twelve members. The economy combines light manufacturing, logistics, and services, anchored by a regional market and a growing technology services sector.

Apphus originated as a medieval trading post and gained municipal status in the 19th century, expanding after the introduction of the railway in the 1880s. Culturally, it hosts the annual Apphus Festival, which celebrates regional crafts, music, and food. Landmarks include the Old Market, the City Hall, and the Apphus Bridge. Education is provided by several primary and secondary schools and a satellite campus of Norda University established in 1965.
