Antirrhinon

Antirrhinon is a genus of flowering plants commonly known as snapdragons. These plants are native to the Mediterranean region and are popular ornamental plants worldwide. The genus Antirrhinum is part of the Plantaginaceae family, which also includes plantains and foxgloves.

Snapdragons are characterized by their distinctive, tubular flowers that resemble an animal's snout. When the sides of the flower are squeezed, the "mouth" opens, and when released, it snaps shut, giving them their common name. The flowers come in a wide range of vibrant colors, including red, pink, yellow, orange, white, and purple, and often have intricate patterns. The genus Antirrhinum contains several species, with Antirrhinum majus being the most well-known and widely cultivated.
