Antiracialism

Antiracialism is a concept that advocates for the abolition of race as a social and political category. It suggests that the continued existence and focus on racial classifications, even in efforts to combat racism, can inadvertently perpetuate racial divisions. Proponents of antiracialism argue that the concept of race itself is a social construct with no biological basis, and that by dismantling these categories, society can move towards a more equitable and unified future.

This perspective often critiques policies or discussions that emphasize race, suggesting they can reinforce racial thinking and hinder true equality. Instead of focusing on race, antiracialism proposes addressing systemic inequalities directly, regardless of racial categorization. The goal is to create a society where individuals are not judged or defined by their perceived racial group, but rather as individuals. This approach can be contrasted with some forms of anti-racism that may focus on addressing disparities between racial groups. Antiracialism seeks to move beyond the framework of race altogether.
