Antibiotikumos

Antibiotikumos is a Hungarian adjective used to describe things that involve or contain antibiotics. It is formed from the noun antibiotikum (antibiotic) plus the suffix -os, which yields “having the quality of” or “characterized by.” The word is commonly found in compound phrases such as antibiotikumos kezelés, antibiotikumos kenőcs, or antibiotikumos közeg.

In standard Hungarian, the more common adjective for relating to antibiotics is antibiotikus; however, antibiotikumos appears in technical or descriptive contexts to emphasise the presence of antibiotics in a product or process. It can modify nouns to indicate that an item is infused with antibiotics or intended for antibiotic use.
