Anschlussvertrag
Anschlussvertrag is a German term that literally means “accession treaty” or “treaty of joining.” In general use it can denote a legal agreement by which a political entity becomes part of another state or political union. In practice, however, the most famous and debated instance associated with the term is the Incorporation of Austria into Nazi Germany in 1938, often described in historical accounts as an Anschluss rather than as a conventional bilateral treaty.
