Anpassungsgrenzen
Anpassungsgrenzen, also known as adaptation limits, refers to the point at which natural or human systems can no longer cope with changes, particularly those related to climate change. These limits represent thresholds beyond which adaptation is no longer feasible or effective. When adaptation limits are reached, societies and ecosystems may face irreversible damage or collapse.
For natural systems, adaptation limits can manifest in the inability of species to migrate or adapt genetically
In human systems, adaptation limits can be seen in the failure of infrastructure to withstand extreme weather
