Anjalankoski

Anjalankoski is a municipality in the region of Kymenlaakso, Finland. It is located in the southeastern part of the country, along the Gulf of Finland. The municipality borders the municipalities of Kouvola, Miehikkälä, and Uusikaupunki.

The name Anjalankoski originates from the Finnish words "Anjala" and "koski," meaning "Anjala" and "waterfall," respectively. This refers to the Anjala Ironworks, a historic ironworks that operated in the area from the 18th to the 20th century. The ironworks were built in 1766 and produced iron products until its closure in 1921.
