Anioninvaihtaja
Anioninvaihtaja, often translated as anion exchanger, is a material that has the ability to exchange its negatively charged ions with other anions present in a surrounding solution. These materials are typically porous solids, such as ion-exchange resins, which are made of polymer beads. The surface of these beads is functionalized with positively charged groups that attract and hold mobile anions. When a solution containing unwanted anions comes into contact with the anion exchanger, these unwanted anions are adsorbed onto the exchanger, and in return, the exchanger releases its own weakly bound anions.
The process of anion exchange is reversible. The capacity of an anion exchanger refers to the total
