The name combines an Anglian linguistic heritage with a regional suffix meaning "people" in their language. The Anglikai are described as part of a broader Anglian cultural sphere while maintaining distinctive local customs.

Language and religion. The Anglikai language, Anglian, is a Germanic tongue with local loanwords and a liturgical register modeled on Anglican English.
