Each version of Android is identified by a code name, historically given in alphabetical order using dessert or sweet treat names such as Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo, Pie, and the latest Android 13.
