Androgeneetiliste
Androgeneetiliste is a Finnish term used to describe phenomena, traits, or conditions that are determined or strongly influenced by androgens—male sex hormones such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone—or by a paternal genome contribution in genetic imprinting. In Finnish scientific usage the term is primarily found in genetics, endocrinology and developmental biology to describe how androgenic signaling or paternal genetic material shapes phenotypes.
In physiology, androgenic effects can cause masculinization of tissues, growth of hair (androgenetic hair loss), sebaceous
In genetics and embryology, androgenetic denotes processes or organisms that involve only paternal genetic material. Androgenesis
In imprinting, certain genes are expressed depending on their parental origin; studying androgenetic samples helps researchers
