Analüüsiti

Analüüsiti is an Estonian verb form meaning “was analyzed” or “has been analyzed.” It is the past passive form of the verb analüüsima (to analyze). In use, analüüsiti signals that an analysis was carried out on a subject, without specifying the agent. The form is common in formal prose, reports, scientific texts and journalism.

In linguistic terms, analüüsiti is derived from the noun analüüs (analysis) with the verb stem analüüs- and the past passive suffix -ti, producing a finite past-tense passive form. The construction can be used impersonal or with a general subject, for example, “Andmed analüüsiti” (the data were analyzed). The related past participle is analüüsitud, used attributively or in different tense/aspect constructions.

Usage and examples: Analüüsiti erinevaid andmeid, et teha järeldusi. Uurimuses analüüsiti kümne patsiendi andmeid, et hinnata ravimi efektiivsust. In scholarly and journalistic writing, analüüsiti frequently appears to attribute conclusions to a completed analysis rather than to a specific agent.
