Analytictosynthetic is a neologism used to describe an approach that seeks to integrate analytic and synthetic methods across disciplines. It refers to the methodological or epistemic bridging of analytic reasoning—clarifying meanings, definitions, and logical relations—with synthetic reasoning—drawing on observation, experiment, and data synthesis.

Term combines analytic and synthetic, reflecting a continuum rather than a strict dichotomy; used to emphasize transition from analysis to synthesis in theory-building and inquiry.

Core idea: Analytictosynthetic approaches aim to use analytic constraints to guide empirical inquiry, and to test or refine analytic theories with empirical data. They can also aim to derive synthetic predictions or models from established analytic principles, and then check these predictions against observations.

In philosophy, it can support empirical investigations into the applicability of analytic distinctions. In linguistics, analytic grammar rules may be evaluated against corpora to assess their descriptive adequacy. In AI, hybrid deductive–inductive systems illustrate the blend, where theory-driven models are updated by data.

Criticisms focus on the risk of conflating truth with observability, potential instrumentalism, and challenges in validating whether an analytic principle genuinely warrants empirical testing without distorting its meaning.
