Analoogpõhised

Analoogpõhised, which translates to "analog-based" in English, refers to systems, processes, or technologies that operate using continuous physical quantities to represent information. Unlike digital systems that use discrete values, typically represented by binary digits (0s and 1s), analog systems employ a varying range of physical properties such as voltage, current, pressure, or sound waves.

The fundamental principle of analog-based systems is that the measured or transmitted information is directly proportional to the physical quantity being used. For example, in an analog audio recording, the fluctuations in sound pressure are converted into corresponding variations in electrical signals, which are then stored on a medium. When played back, these electrical signals are reconverted into sound waves.

Analog technology was the dominant form of information processing and transmission for much of the 20th century. This includes early telephones, radios, televisions, and record players. The inherent nature of analog signals allows for potentially infinite resolution, meaning they can represent a continuous spectrum of values. However, analog signals are also susceptible to noise and degradation during transmission or storage, which can lead to a loss of fidelity.

While digital technology has largely superseded analog systems in many applications due to its superior accuracy, noise immunity, and ease of processing and storage, analog principles remain relevant. Analog components are still found in many electronic devices, often in conjunction with digital systems, for tasks such as signal conditioning, filtering, and interfacing with the physical world. Understanding analog-based concepts is crucial for comprehending the foundational principles of many electronic and mechanical systems.
