Anaeroobid
Anaeroobid are microorganisms that do not require oxygen for growth. In fact, the presence of oxygen can be harmful or even lethal to many of them. This characteristic makes them distinct from aerobic organisms, which depend on oxygen for their metabolic processes. Anaerobic life forms are incredibly diverse and can be found in a wide range of environments, including deep soil, sediments, the digestive tracts of animals, and even in oxygen-deprived areas within multicellular organisms.
There are different types of anaerobes based on their relationship with oxygen. Obligate anaerobes cannot survive
Anaerobic metabolism typically relies on alternative electron acceptors for respiration, such as sulfate, nitrate, or carbon
