Aminosyrernes
Aminosyrernes, often translated as amino acids, are organic compounds that serve as the fundamental building blocks of proteins. They are characterized by a central carbon atom, known as the alpha-carbon, to which four groups are attached: an amino group (-NH2), a carboxyl group (-COOH), a hydrogen atom (-H), and a side chain (R-group). The R-group is what distinguishes one amino acid from another and dictates its unique chemical properties.
