Aminfunktion

Aminfunktion refers to the presence and properties of amino groups within a molecule. An amino group is a functional group in organic chemistry consisting of a nitrogen atom bonded to two hydrogen atoms and one alkyl or aryl group. This functional group is characterized by the lone pair of electrons on the nitrogen atom, which makes amines basic and nucleophilic.

Amines are classified as primary, secondary, or tertiary depending on the number of carbon atoms directly bonded to the nitrogen atom. Primary amines have one carbon atom bonded to nitrogen (e.g., methylamine), secondary amines have two carbon atoms bonded to nitrogen (e.g., dimethylamine), and tertiary amines have three carbon atoms bonded to nitrogen (e.g., trimethylamine). Quaternary ammonium salts are also related, where the nitrogen atom is bonded to four carbon atoms, carrying a positive charge.
