Ambriz

Ambriz is a town and municipality in western Angola. It lies on the Atlantic coast in Bengo Province, north of Luanda, and serves as the administrative seat of Ambriz Municipality. The municipality includes the urban center of Ambriz and surrounding rural areas along the coast and inland.

Historically, Ambriz developed during the Portuguese colonial era as a maritime and trading post. The town and its port supported fishing and coastal commerce, and the area has experienced the disruptions of Angola’s independence struggle and subsequent civil conflict.
