Alphabetatubulin is a protein that plays a crucial role in the formation and function of microtubules. Microtubules are essential components of the cytoskeleton, a dynamic network within eukaryotic cells that provides structural support, facilitates intracellular transport, and is involved in cell division and motility. Tubulin proteins assemble into heterodimers, consisting of alpha-tubulin and beta-tubulin subunits, which then polymerize to form protofilaments.
