Aloitushintaa

Aloitushintaa is a Finnish term meaning the opening price of an item or asset in a sale, especially in auctions and listing-based sales. It denotes the price at which bidding or negotiation begins, serving as a starting point for price discovery. The opening price may be set by the seller or the auctioneer and is often distinct from the final sale price.

In auction contexts, the aloitushinta functions as the baseline for bids; buyers place increasing bids starting from that price, and the eventual hammer price may be above or, less commonly, at or below it depending on demand and bidding activity. Some auctions also include a reserve price, which is a hidden or stated minimum acceptable price that can differ from the aloitushinta.

In real estate, vehicles, antiques, and online auction platforms, aloitushinta is commonly displayed in advertisements to attract bidders. In fixed-price listings, a similar term may be used to indicate the minimum acceptable price for offers.
