Allopaattisen

Allopaattinen is a term used to describe a system of medical practice that contrasts with alternative medicine. It is characterized by the use of remedies that produce effects opposite to the symptoms of a disease. For example, if a patient has a fever, an allopathic practitioner might prescribe medication to lower the body temperature. This approach is often referred to as conventional medicine or Western medicine.

The term "allopathic" was coined by physician Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century. Hahnemann was the founder of homeopathy, a system of medicine that uses highly diluted substances to stimulate the body's healing response. He used the term "allopathy" to distinguish his practice from the established medical traditions of his time.
