Alküültriflaadid
Alküültriflaadid, also known as alkyl trifluoromethanesulfonates, are a class of organic compounds characterized by the presence of an alkyl group attached to a trifluoromethanesulfonate (triflate) ester. The triflate anion, CF3SO3-, is an exceptionally stable leaving group due to the strong electron-withdrawing effect of the trifluoromethyl group and the delocalization of negative charge across the sulfonate moiety. This property makes alküültriflaadid highly reactive electrophiles.
The general formula for an alküültriflaat is R-OTf, where R represents an alkyl group and OTf represents
Due to the excellent leaving group ability of the triflate anion, alküültriflaadid are potent alkylating agents.
