Aleikum

Aleikum, often transliterated alaykum or alaikum, is an Arabic prepositional phrase meaning “upon you.” It is most familiar as part of the greeting as-salamu alaykum, which translates to “peace be upon you.” The phrase combines the preposition ala “upon” with the second-person plural suffix kum “you,” and is used when addressing a group or in formal address.

In use, as-salamu alaykum is a standard greeting among Muslims worldwide.
