Alcubierrehajtás, also known as the Alcubierre drive, is a theoretical concept in physics that proposes a method of faster-than-light travel. It was introduced by Mexican physicist Miguel Alcubierre in 1994. The core idea involves distorting spacetime itself. Instead of accelerating a spacecraft to warp speed, the Alcubierre drive would create a "warp bubble." This bubble would contract spacetime in front of the spacecraft and expand it behind. The spacecraft within the bubble would remain stationary relative to the local spacetime, but the bubble itself, and thus the spacecraft, would be propelled forward at potentially superluminal speeds.
