Alaasemad

Alaasemad is a small Isiolo District in Kenya. Located in the Rift Valley region, it is situated approximately 400 kilometers north of Nairobi, the country's capital. The area is characterized by a semi-arid to arid climate, with an annual rainfall of less than 700 millimeters.

The land in Alaasemad is generally flat to gently sloping, with poor to moderate fertility. The terrain is composed of red soil, covering a significant portion of the area. The area's vegetation comprises a mix of bushes, shrubs, and trees, with acacia species being the most dominant.

In terms of population, Alaasemad is a relatively sparsely populated area with a few farming communities scattered throughout the region. The primary economic activity in this area is subsistence farming, primarily focused on crops like sorghum, cowpeas, and beans, as well as rearing livestock. Other economic activities in the region include pastoralism and tenant farming.

Compared to other areas in Isiolo, Alaasemad is generally at a lower level of development in terms of infrastructure. Access to social services such as healthcare and education is reportedly limited, although a small number of primary schools and health centers are available in the area. Relatively isolated, the area has both paved and unpaved road networks.
