AlQdisiyyah

Al-Qadisiyyah, also spelled Al-Qadisiyya, is an ancient city located in the Diyala Governorate of Iraq. It is situated approximately 160 kilometers northwest of Baghdad, near the border with Syria. The city has a rich history dating back to ancient times, with evidence of human settlement dating to the Neolithic period. Al-Qadisiyyah was an important center during the Roman and Byzantine eras, known for its strategic location and trade routes.

During the Islamic period, Al-Qadisiyyah became a significant city under the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties. The victory solidified the Islamic conquest of the Middle East and North Africa.
