AlQaedas

al-Qaeda is a militant Islamist organization founded by Osama bin Laden and others in 1988. It is considered a terrorist group by many governments and international organizations. The group's origins are linked to the Soviet-Afghan War, where it was formed to support mujahideen fighters against the Soviet Union.

Following the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan, al-Qaeda shifted its focus to opposing what it perceived as Western influence and military presence in Muslim countries, particularly in the Middle East. The organization gained international notoriety for orchestrating a series of attacks, most notably the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.
